The Long Night Moon … The December full moon is named after the fact that the nights surrounding the Winter Solstice are the longest of the year, with light slipping away as the veil between worlds grows thinner.

Last night marked the prayer ceremony with the Sunstone Pipe for this month’s full moon.
Even though a day after the full moon’s peak, we remain within the cycle of that moon.
The prayers and way of this Pipe’s ceremonies continue to shape themselves as it comes into itself.
And as with the Malstrom Pipe, the spirit of the Sunstone Pipe seems to have its own way of steer events surrounding it.
If it wants something done, it will happen.
If it does NOT want something to happen, it will not happen.
And these things are good.

The Rune drawn at the end of the ceremony was Ansuz …. the Messenger Rune.
And I felt led to pull the meaning for this particular draw from what’s written in “The Book of Runes” by Ralph H. Blum.
“The keynote here is receiving: messages, signals, gifts. Even a timely warning may be seen as a gift. The message may be that of a new life unfolding. New lives begin with new connections, surprising linkages that direct you onto new pathways. Take care now to be especially aware during meetings, visits, chance encounters, particularly with persons wiser than yourself. When the Messenger Rune brings sacred knowledge, you are truly blessed.
It definitely speaks of this new Pipe.
Traditionally, Ansuz represents an Estuary. It symbolizes the Mouth, Communication, Understanding, Inspiration.
